A family that has roofed Franklin County since 1990
Family-owned since 1990.
1990 is when Matt Emmendorfer started this company in Overland, just outside St. Louis. He put up roofs and siding one house at a time and built a name on doing the work himself instead of handing it to a crew he had never met. In 2003 he moved the whole operation out to Union, Missouri, closer to the Franklin County homeowners who make up most of the work today.
Matt still runs it, and his family runs it with him. His son Tom handles roofing and the insurance-claim side, walking adjusters through hail and wind damage on Franklin County roofs. His son Tim handles roofing and siding. His daughter Amy runs the media side, and Wendy keeps the office moving. That is the company. There is no call center and there is no crew of strangers showing up in an unmarked truck.
2,400 is the number that matters. Since 1990 the family has put roofs and siding on more than 2,400 Missouri homes across Union, Washington, Pacific, St. Clair, Sullivan, Villa Ridge, and New Haven. Every one of those was done by an Emmendorfer crew, never subcontracted out. When an Emmendorfer truck is in your driveway, the people on your roof are the people whose name is on the company.
The standard Matt set in 1990 is the same one the crews work to now. We walk the roof before we quote it, so the price you approve is the price you pay. We name the manufacturer on the written estimate, whether that is CertainTeed, Owens Corning, Malarkey, or GAF, never a generic shingle. We replace the decking and fascia that has failed instead of covering it. And when a repair beats a replacement, we tell you straight, because a family business in Franklin County lives on the next neighbor's referral.
Missouri weather is what keeps us busy. Spring and summer hail, straight-line and storm wind, freeze-thaw through the winter, and summer humidity all wear a roof down and drive insurance claims. Tom handles those claims and the adjuster from the first call to the final check. We are a factory-certified installer and a BBB Accredited Business, and the work we do is built to hold up to the next storm, not just pass the first look.
Matt, Tom, and Tim Emmendorfer.
The same family that quotes your roof installs it. Matt founded the company in 1990; his sons Tom and Tim run the roofing, siding, and insurance-claim work today.
Matt Emmendorfer
Matt Emmendorfer started the company in 1990 in Overland, outside St. Louis, and moved it to Union, Missouri in 2003. He still sets the standard the crews work to: walk the roof before quoting, name the manufacturer on the written estimate, and replace the decking and fascia that has failed instead of covering it. He has built the business on in-house family crews and straight answers, including telling a homeowner when a repair beats a full replacement.
Tom Emmendorfer
Matt's son Tom runs roofing and the insurance-claim side of the business. He walks adjusters through hail and wind damage on Franklin County roofs and handles the claim from the first call to the final check, so the homeowner is not left arguing with their carrier alone. Tom knows what Missouri storms do to a roof and what an adjuster needs to see to approve the work.
Tim Emmendorfer
Matt's son Tim runs roofing and siding for the family crews. He installs the manufacturer systems named on the estimate, from CertainTeed and Owens Corning roofing to LP SmartSide and Royal Building Products siding, and holds the work to the standard his father set in 1990. Tim is on the in-house crews that do every Emmendorfer job, never subcontracted.

Will you handle my insurance claim after a storm?
We are a family roofing and siding company, not a storm-chaser or a St. Louis drive-in that rotates subcontractors through Franklin County and disappears when the season ends.
We walk the roof before we quote, so the price you approve is the price you pay. We name the manufacturer on the written estimate instead of a generic shingle. We replace the decking and fascia that has failed instead of covering it. Roofing, siding, and gutters come off the same in-house Emmendorfer crew, never subcontracted, and the family that documents a storm claim is the family that defends it and installs the roof.
